youth weekend camps

(Weekend camps fill quickly! Register early)

With dedicated Girls and Boys weekends, our Youth Development Weekend Camps are open to girls and boys ages 7 to 12 and take place on Miller School of Albemarle’s scenic 1,600-acre campus which boasts over 10 miles of student-built trails. Riders will be able to develop their cycling skills in a fun, supportive environment with some of the area’s top mountain bikers.

For all beginner to lower-intermediate level cyclists between the ages of 7 and 12 out there, who love to ride their bikes and want to challenge themselves while learning new skills and having a blast with their peers: this is the camp for you! The Youth Development Boys and Girls Camps take place on weekends and are about as much fun as you can possible have on a bike. Days begin with basic skills work such as shifting and braking, and progress to corning and navigating obstacles before applying all of those new-found techniques on fun, singletrack trails.  After two days of learning, laughing, and riding, the hope is that all campers never want to go a day without riding their bikes again!

The individual weekends are dedicated to boys or girls. Parents are encouraged to stay and participate.

Guest counselors include local experts with incredible technical skills and a passion for getting more girls on bikes! Camp begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM both days.

New wooden ramps and ladder bridges allow everyone to work on their skills and have a blast doing it! Camp begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM both days.

Both Youth Girls and Boys Camps include:

  • Expert instruction from experienced local riders and area professionals
