Each day will focus on a different discipline of the sport. Dedicated courses will be set up for short track, eliminator, cross country, and marathon training. Few things are as motivating as friendly competition, so count on bumping bars with other campers and sprinting for the holeshot! Counselors also get in on the action, giving real-time feedback and tactical advice.

CROSS-COUNTRY

3.75 mile lap. 45% doubletrack, 55% singletrack. There are multiple places to pass, and each lap begins with almost 1/2 mile on fields and gravel road before entering the woods. After the opening climb, riders are treated to an almost mile-long descent before working their way back to the start/finish line on undulating singletrack.

SHORT TRACK

0.6 mile lap. All doubletrack, mainly on grass. There are several off-camber corners, a fast descent, and short, challenging climbs. Each lap also includes the famous “dip”, allowing numerous opportunities for style points!

MARATHON

8.85 mile lap. 40% doubletrack, 60% singletrack. A monster lap of all of the best terrain Miller School of Albemarle has to offer, ranging from tight singletrack, to open fireroads, to machine-built flow. Riders are rewarded for efficiency, smart pacing, and section-by-section strategy. As the laps tick by, it is often the smartest racer who finds his or herself at the front!

ELIMINATOR

0.55 mile course. A fast, doubletrack start quickly pinches into narrow singletrack before a challenging climb and run through the “dip” to the finish line. 4 riders compete head-to-head. The top 2 advance to the winners bracket, while the bottom 2 move to the losers bracket but still have a chance to make it to the championship round!
